Over the past few years I have really grown a huge love + passion for working out. I’ve done a lot of experimenting to find what works best for my body and I have finally found a variety of different kinds of movement that make me feel my absolute best. Exercise has such a wide variety of health benefits. It helps to better your mental health, emotional health, physical health and I would go as far as to say your spiritual health too. It releases good endorphins, gives your b
Meal prep – you either love it and thrive while doing it or you hate it. I kind of feel like I’m somewhere in between. Although I can see many incredible benefits of meal prepping if you have a full time job or if you’re at school, I currently have the luxury of being home most days to make my food fresh. At my current job I work the morning shift. This means I start at 6am and I’m home around 2pm or earlier. I like to intermittent fast most days but if I do get hungry at wor
We live in an ever changing and vast growing society with so many varying options at our finger tips. Every one’s motives for healthy swaps are different. It could be due to food allergies and intolerances, taste or simply just wanting to nourish your body with foods that serve you best as an individual. I have found these few food swaps to be the greatest unlocking of a whole new world to food and nutrition. I love that manufacturers and food services are listening and becom
It feels so surreal writing a post like this. I am so thankful, overwhelmed, happy and excited to announce my best friend, Lulu and I are linking arms and starting a small business together. AHHH! If you’ve been following my personal journey closely for a while you would have noticed a dramatic shift in this blog. It started out as a hobby and a way for me to express myself through words but over the past year it has changed into a faith-based health and wellness blog — somet
As you already know, this past weekend I had the absolute honor to serve at camp Erin, which is the largest national bereavement program for youth grieving the death of a significant person in their lives. As excited as I was, I definitely had my fears. Although I have/ still walk through grief the thought of helping children through something as heart breaking as losing someone close to them so young had me feeling unqualified. I know first hand there is absolutely nothing a
If you know me, you know I’m pretty go with the flow and honestly a bit of a free spirit. Although I consider myself care-free, I LOVE and swear by my morning routine. I notice a huge difference spiritually, mentally and physically throughout my day if I don’t give myself time to do things that help me set my day up right. Not only does a morning routine allow you to set super healthy habits in your day to day life, it also helps with productivity. I am currently unemployed b
I’ll be honest, I’ve been dreaming up this post for quite some time now and I’ve been a little scared to start writing because I wanted to encompass this topic with honour + integrity and I wanted to give the beauty that is womanhood the justice it deserves. This past year I have become more in tune with my body and my own cycle + signals. I used to think my cycle was just when I menstruated but it’s SO much more than that. It’s made up of 4 different phases — Menstrual phase
Over the last 6 months I have slowly but surely transitioned into eating a paleo based diet. There is definitely going to be a blog post coming soon on why I have chosen to eat this way. But until then, I want to share the easiest, yummiest and most beautiful short bread recipe with you. The paleo diet doesn’t allow any grains which has made it difficult to find biscuits or cookies that contain clean ingredients and leave you feeling satisfied. I’ve played around in my kitche
Over the past year I have experienced a wide range of struggles when it comes to my digestion & personal hormonal issues. I will delve a little deeper into both topics in different posts but for now I want to share with you this amazing Paleo granola I made up the other day. It’s easy to look at a Paleo diet and see how much you can’t consume anymore, but in my opinion it’s all about perception! There are still a tonne of amazing foods, whole foods might I add, that you can s
My wandering soul adores anything to do with traveling, experiencing new + beautiful places and immersing myself completely in the wonder God has created. Traveling is truly a blessing, it allows growth for new perspective and a small or large season of change. Last weekend I took a road trip out to Illinois with my husband, sister, nephew and friend to watch the most precious couple tie the knot. Weddings get me giddy like you wouldn’t believe. I don’t know if it’s because I
There are a large number of pastries, muffins and cookies sold in stores and at local cafes or coffee shops that serve no nutritional benefit to your body in the slightest. My heart behind sharing recipes with you is to show you healthy alternatives are fun and super simple to make. These mini paleo muffins were made up on the spot. I looked in my cupboard to see what I had and went with it. I know most people aren’t as go with the flow when it comes to baking and that’s tota
I feel pressed to write about arguably one of the most crucial parts of your body. If you can nurture and care for this part of your body, more likely than not all the other little intricacies of your bodies function will fall into place! Can you guess where I’m going with this?Yep, you got it… GUT HEALTH! I genuinely didn’t realise how truly important gut health was until mine started to fall apart. Before I get into the ways you can be caring for your gut I’m going to touch
I have felt a strong pull to write about the importance of ethical shopping. In this post I share my heart on the positive impact it can have on children enduring manual labour, how it affects the environment and how it is economically more beneficial for you. As well as tips + tricks for you to make a positive change. What If I told you the jacket, jumper or coat that is keeping you warm this winter was made with literal blood, sweat and tears because a child was forced out
Truth be told, it’s taken me almost 6 years to sit down and actually write about this. I’ve mentioned it briefly in blogs & posts but never delved deep enough because if I did that It would mean I have to relive it and I guess I haven’t been ready for that until now. My 16 year old self had no idea what was coming. It was 5:15 a.m on the 27th of December, 2012. I woke up to the most horrendous scream I’ve ever heard in my life. At first I thought I was having a night mare, t
It’s been a wild week of emotions for me but I have been told by the Lord to write it down, declare it and wait on it because in the perfect time, it WILL happen. I feel a stirring to share the journey to Nebraska thus far with you. A raw collection of words, emotions and expressions straight from the heart. My Journey to Nebraska actually begun before I left to serve at camp Sonshine 14 months ago. I was at a point in my life where I was eager for more, I felt ready for an u
Psalm 96:11-12 – Let the heavens be glad, and the earth rejoice!
Let the sea and everything in it shout his praise!
Let the fields and their crops burst out with joy!
Let the trees of the forest sing for joy Estes Park, Colorado, USA. Travel is the freedom you get when your soul collides with every new and exciting experience. It’s the rush of the unknown, living completely in the moment entangled with a carefree spirit to explore the varsity of the most beautiful earth. The
Story time! 2017 takes the cake for the most change I have ever experienced in such a short amount of time. Around February/March the Lord told me to quit my job. A career I had studied for and worked hard at for 3 years. I had no fall back plan, nothing. Just like Abraham, he told me to get up and move. It was one of the most incredible testaments to my personal faith I have ever experienced. During this time God was also preparing me to serve at camp Sonshine – Nebraska, U.
I’ve really struggled to start writing this blog because I just had no idea where to start. It’s been two weeks on from finishing camp and I have had time to process and reflect on what God has done over the summer, lessons I’ve learnt and how I’ve changed as a person. So now I’ts finally time for me to share my 2 and a half month journey of my unfolding of how I belong at camp Sonshine. 25th of May, 2017 – My mum and I jumped on a train to stay in Sydney for the night before
