Hey Beautiful Souls!

I hope you’re all keeping well + safe during this wild time we are currently living in.

I have personally been taking this time to be more intentional and slow down a little. It’s been extremely rejuvenating and it’s so nice to come back to myself and do things that bring me joy in a time where things are ever changing and extremely unexpected.

You are all aware of my love + passion for nutrition, creating new recipes and nourishing my body with an abundance of beautiful foods. I have been playing around in the kitchen quite a lot recently, which means I have been able to try different ingredients and expand my palette.

It’s finally spring time here in sweet little NE which means my body is craaaaaaaving all the smoothies, salads and lighter foods. It’s just wild thinking about how our bodies work and how we operate so differently in every season. It always leaves me in awe of my God and in awe of the fact that our bodies know, we just have to trust and allow them to do their thing.

I am personally a smoothie bowl for breakfast kind of girl and have recently been mixing up my usual combo. I’m absolutely here for it!!!!

This smoothie bowl is sweet, bitter, tart and alllll the things you could ever want for your tastebuds. This is my Cherry Ripe smoothie bowl topped with home-made grain free granola!

  1. 1.5 cups of frozen cauliflower

  2. 1/2 cup of frozen cherries

  3. 1 big handful of baby spinach

  4. 1 cup of water

  5. 1 teaspoon of cinnamon

  6. 2 tablespoons of paleo thin vanilla nut protein powder — use my link to shop their incredible products

  7. 2 tablespoons of organic fair trade cacao powder

This year I have tried to be more aware of the products I am purchasing, this definitely includes the ingredients I use. I have made small swaps over the past few months. My friend, Talia, bought it to my attention last year about how important it is to source fair trade chocolate. Since then, I have tried my best where I can. I found a small packet of organic fair trade cacao powder from trader joes at an extremely reasonable price. Not only does it taste good, but it’s supporting farmers and helping our world.

Here is a link to a fair trade website for more information.

Add all those beautiful ingredients into a high speed blender and mix until thick + creamy! I added some of my home made grain free granola on top of mine, but you can use whatever suits you best for your smoothie bowl topper.

This bowl is filled with vitamins, minerals, antioxidants, anti-inflammatory properties, protein and healthy fats!

These flavours take me back to one of my favourite childhood chocolates. I’d love to know if you try it out.

Always remember that nourishing your body doesn’t need to be hard or overwhelming. Choosing whole ingredients that serve you well is all your body asks for. Try to focus on food as fuel and don’t be scared to try new things!!

With love,
