There is absolutely no denying that chocolate is hands down one of my most favourite foods on the planet (beside almond butter because, well, duh). Since having the incredible opportunity to collaborate with Navitas, I have been getting super creative in the kitchen and I have been coming up with more fun recipes to share with this sweet community of mine.
I have been busy doing some recipe development and came up with the most delicious raw chocolate mousse pie. This pie is refined sugar free (it’s only sweetened with 4 dates, AKA: natures candy), gluten free, dairy free, paleo and vegan. It’s filled to the brim with healthy fats and it isn’t going to leave you feeling disgustingly full or give you a sugar high.
In this recipe I am featuring 2 of Navitas superfoods and superfoods powders — Their organic cacao powder and their organic cacao nibs! These are two of my most used products by Navitas. I love being able to represent a brand I whole heartedly align with and use every single day.
Cacao is filled with polyphenols (antioxidants) and is a great source of magnesium. Navitas cacao powder is made from unroasted, non-alkalized fair trade certified organic cacao beans. They cold press the cacao butter (oils) from cacao nibs and dry out the remains to make their cacao powder.
Navitas cacao nibs are peeled and crumbled from whole cacao beans. These truly are natures chocolate chips. They are filled to the brim with antioxidants, fiber and vital minerals. Cacao nibs can be a little more on the bitter side, so I love to pair them with something creamy like this pie, a smoothie bowl or in bliss balls.

Alright, let’s get into this recipe!
Recipe : Crust: 1 cup of almond flour 4 dates 1 cup of shredded unsweetened coconut 1 cup of walnuts A pinch of pink himalayan salt Water (if needed) Filling: 2 cans of coconut cream (unsweetened) 3 tablespoons of Navitas organic cacao powder Toppings: 2 teaspoons of Navitas organic cacao nibs A dusting of Navitas organic cacao powder 1.5 tablespoons of Walnuts Method :
You will need a high speed blender or food processor, a hand mixer and a pie tin.
Place 2 tins of coconut cream in the freezer (leave for 1 - 1.5 hours)
Place all of your crust ingredients in a high speed blender
Pulse until you reach a consistency that you can easily manipulate while all ingredients hold together (if you need to add a little bit of water at this stage, you can. Just be sure to add a little bit at a time and then pulse again)
Once you have reached desired consistency, press crust mixture into your pie tin
Leave it in the fridge to set
*NOTE: This crust is raw and isn’t going to have the same consistency as a normal pie crust. The longer you leave it in the fridge, the more it firms up. 6. After the 1 - 1.5 hours are up, remove coconut cream from the freezer 7. Scoop out the hardened coconut cream into a small bowl (We don’t need the excess coconut water for this recipe. You can always store it in the fridge and use it for smoothies at a later date) 8. With your hand mixer start to whip the coconut cream 9. Once you have reached a whipped consistency, add in Navitas organic cacao powder 10. Mix until the coconut cream and organic cacao powder is well combined 11. Once you have reached desired consistency, pull the crust out from the fridge and fill your pie with the mousse filling 12. You can choose to leave your pie as is but this is where I decorated with organic cacao nibs, organic cacao powder and walnuts 13. Place in the fridge to set for at least an hour This pie will keep in the fridge for 3-5 days.
My heart is to show you that you can still make delicious treats made with whole foods that actually bring so much nourishment to your body. This pie is husband approved, so I highly recommend you try it out.
